On April 10, 2024, the Sibayan Calica Association (formerly Foundation) was honoured with the ‘Brigadanggayan’ award at the La Union Convention Center in the City of San Fernando, La Union. This prestigious recognition celebrates our unwavering commitment to enhancing public education through community involvement and support.
The ‘Brigadanggayan’ award is part of the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela programme, which embodies the Filipino spirit of “bayanihan”—communal unity and cooperation. This initiative encourages various stakeholders, including local governments, private organisations, and community members, to collaborate in preparing public schools for the academic year. Activities typically involve cleaning, repairing, and beautifying school facilities to create a conducive learning environment.
Our association’s dedication to this cause has been evident through our consistent efforts in providing essential resources and support to schools in La Union.
